From the days of yore when it was christened Bombay, to what we call Mumbai today, the history of this city is fascinating. Back in 2005, a little discussion with a friend got us thinking. Was it in us to weave an intimate portrait and narrate the story of this bustling metropolis? With a bicycle and an expert guide on hand, it all sounded very exciting.
Riding across the various precincts explains a lot of facets of Mumbai. Think of the diverse communities that dwell here, the character of the art and heritage districts, landmark moments from the independence struggle, and of course, why this city functions the way it does.
It started out with a random assortment of bicycles and unflinching enthusiasm. And over the years, we’ve been delighted with our experiences. We’ve had rides starting at sunrise that have wrapped up with a scrumptious breakfast before the heat of the day picks up. Then, there have been other times when we’ve managed to go the distance and celebrate with a cold beer post noon. And yet others, where we’ve ridden across town after sundown, tucking in the Bambiya street fare on offer. The distance and time has often been irrelevant. For we assure you that a ride around town is going to be a lot of fun with us.
