The dream sparks somewhere in an enclosed space, far from the wilderness. In the next instant, the mind transcends the walls and hops over to those ethereal heights, dreaming of the high mountains. It is a call that cannot be ignored. The challenge posed is just a part of the allure. But there aren’t many experiences that come close to taking the next step, upwards, your laboured breath stirring the stillness of this world of rock and ice.

Our journey started with Stok Kangri, a mountain in Ladakh. This was back in 2002, a time when we had the slopes to ourselves. In the next few years, we hopped over to other local giants like Chamsher Kangri, Mentok Kangri II and Nun. And to some high peaks outside of India, Elbrus and Kilimanjaro. We’ve always tread a cautious path, while testing the limits of the mind and body. Our measure of success goes beyond just standing atop the summit. The idea is to be one with the mountain, embrace all that is on offer. And reflect on the experience and the learnings, whether at the end of a successful expedition or while standing at the base again, looking up towards the goal.

While the big mountains like Everest and Kangchenjunga fascinate us, peak bagging has never been our intent. As you gain altitude, we want you to grow in terms of knowledge, skill and confidence. It is why we like to assess your abilities and understand your motive before recommending a climb. For, if the intent is clear and the belief is strong, there’s no summit that we cannot reach together.
